Ham Radio

One of my biggest hobbies is Amateur Radio. Ham radio, as it is more commonly called, is a worldwide hobby that involves peoples from many countries. Hams in the United States act as a group ready to gather in times of emergency to support local, state, federal, and civil agencies with their communication needs. During regular times, hams participate in radio contesting, make contacts all around the world, and ragchew with their friends around town.

The world of Amateur Radio is a wonderful one. There are lots of friendly people on the air and everyone makes you feel welcome. If you are interested in becoming an operator, or if you just want to know more, check out these pages:

Teens in Radio:

There are many people in Amateur Radio, but the most interesting are people under the age of 21. (I happen to fall in this category.) Here are some neat links to places about teen hams:

Me, KC9CYK:

I knew there should be something here about myself.. I have been a ham for over two years, first earning my license in middle school. I now hold a General class license. I enjoy many different modes of communication. I like to talk over the 2m FM repeaters, HF single-sideband voice, and PSK31 digital HF communication.
